Authors have tried to describe it. Poets try to express it. Moviemakers attempt to portray it. Singers and songwriters endeavor to convey its essence. Sociologists work to understand it. People of all ages, in every corner of the world, expend great effort in order to experience it.
But here's a photo of it.
True love.
This big brother has an intense dislike of the jarring sounds that happen when his mom runs the blender. She always warns him ahead of time and then he claps his hands over his ears in an attempt to muffle the grating, unpleasant sounds. But this time when his mom warned him that she was getting ready to use the blender, he did something different. Instead of covering his own ears, he put his hands over the ears of his little brother.
Sacrificing your own comfort or safety or desires in order to provide these things for someone you care about? That's true love.
